What's the Work?[]

Riddle School (later Riddle Transfer) is an indie point-and-click escape video game on Newgrounds and other computer game sites. It starts out as a sarcastic boy named Phil who is bored at school whose only goal during the first three games is to escape school. The plot suddenly changes in the forth and fifth game however where it is revealed that ever since the events of RS2, Phil and his friends have been trapped on an alien spaceship by the tyrannical alien, Viz. They escspe with the help of an alien named Diz but end up getting capture and imprisoned in Zone 5.1, based on area 51.

In the scrapped version Shaw is revealed to be the overarching mastermind behind Zone 5.1 and teams up with Viz to destroy the world while the friends and Diz (who is a hero orignially) team up to save the world from them. In the released version however, Diz ends up betraying Phil and tries to destroy the world.

Who is he? What has he done?[]

Shaw DeLot

Shaw DeLot is the scrapped character who would've been the main antagonist of these games and mastermind behind Zone 5.1. While we never physically see him, since he was never actually published, we do actually get to see Zone 5.1 and how the creatures are horribly treated after being kidnapped from their rightful homes. This includes Flying Pig, Tessis, Goat-man, Messie and Yeddy. Him and his agents are the ones responsible for using a tractor beam to kidnap Diz, Phil and his friends then imprisoning them in Zone 5.1. To make things worse, he had Zack tied up to the ceiling like an animal for presumably several days due to his heat emission. He sends his agents to capture the children when they end up escaping.

So onto what he would have done... while we only have the publisher information to go off of, we can gather that he completely kidnapped and brainwashed Diz into believing he was Viz so he would try to take over the world. He would then send the four children to penalized prisons and act as their "principal" while using Zach and his heating powers to turn him into a doomsday weapon to destroy the world. When the children escape and he gets trapped under a bell, he later seeks revenge on the children and tries to kill Phil in a vat of lava but ends up deservedly accidentally making him self fall down instead. His agents are glad to be freed from his tyrannical rule.

Mitigating Factor[]

None known. I mean his name is a literal anagram of "Slow Death". Though we never got to see what he was like, it is clear he is a stereotypical selfish bad boss who is fully willing to hurt children and deprive innocent creatures from their homes. He also was a tyrannical ruler over his agents, so yeah, no care for them. Since we actually do get to see the effects of their, he is not too offscreen to count.

Despite coming from a comedic game, he is taken completely seriously (or at least his final confronatation with Phil is) and has an extremely personal antagonsitic battle with Phil at the end that is meant to be emotional.

Heinous Standard[]

Though Viz was a tyrannical alien who was willing to blow up the world, Shaw still stands out for his much lower resources, personal villainy and brainwashing Diz into thinking he is Viz so he could destroy the world and murder the children. He also enslaved multiple creatures which helps him stick out. Since Diz isn't a bad guy in this version (at least when he isn't brainwashed by Shaw himself) he isn't competition.

Verdict[]

I think yes but up to you.
