The Thief is the (supposedly) original overarching antagonist of the Saw franchise, he was originally going to be an enigmatic thief who would possibly serve as the original main antagonist of Saw IV (which was going to be a prequel staring John Kramer), and the thief would be a robber/implied serial killer. Who would kill John Kramer's parents. which traumatized him into becoming Jigsaw.

But since the idea was quickly shot down, there is little to no information about what role the thief would play.

Biography[]

The thief was originally going to break into John's house as an attempt to steal(?) something, but he ended up killing John's parents instead, and likely getting away with it. This would later go on to traumatize John into becoming the infamous Jigsaw Killer, but since the script was scrapped, only a few pieces of info on the thief are known.

Trivia[]

  • The idea of the thief was not entirely scrapped, as his idea would later go on to be the titular antagonist of the film duology of the same name (said movies were also made by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, who also wrote Saw IV to Saw 3D and will return to also write the upcoming Saw XI).
