Doctor Chen Lu (Chinese name: 陈路) was a minor character in Iron Man 3.
This character was set to be a villain known as Radioactive Man. However, the character was altered to Doctor Wu In the final film.
He was played by Wang Xue Qi.
Development[]
In early 2012, Wang Xue Qi’s role was announced to be playing Radioactive Man in then upcoming Iron Man 3. Before his character was altered completely.
Trivia[]
- Since Mandarin’s inclusion in Iron Man 3 has caused controversy amongst Chinese fandom for portraying a Chinese villain as racist, it is easy to be assumed that Radioactive Man’s change in identity is also resulted of this fandom backlash. Thus his character was altered.
- Radioactive man’s situation was very similar to Moleman from Fant4stic, as both actors were appointed to play an iconic villain in the comic, but was altered during production.
