Zip, Oliver! What are you doing?
~ Miss Circle at the end of Basics in Behavior, also her most famous and only line.

Miss Circle was the main antagonist of the now-cancelled YouTube horror web series Fundamental Paper Education.

She is the math teacher of the Paper School and an abnormally tall (9'7 foot however, she can change her height any time[1]) woman with a large compass/protractor tool for an arm. She teaches math class and consumes and tortures any of the children in her class who fail.

Her voice is provided with the Google Translate Japanese text-to-speech voice.

Personality[]

Miss Circle's personality is that of a failure-intolerant cannibal who takes sadistic enjoyment in her crimes. She is an entirely sadistic entity, who holds favorites and punishes those who fail the simplest of tasks harshly and violently. She also seems to be a bit of a goofball, as she can be seen spinning down the hallway in a T-Pose and doing a cat-face. Whenever a student fails a test, she grins widely and begins rapidly chasing them for her pleasure and to torture them and consume them.

Despite her cruelty and sadism, she does seem to play favorites and even have friends in the school. Oliver, Zip, and Edward seem to be her favorite students. Her "friends", are Miss Bloomie, and Miss Thavel. She also seems to fear ∆lice, though it is unknown why.

Appearance[]

Miss Circle is an abnormally tall woman with long black, frazzled hair, wearing a vest, cargo pants, and military boots. Her left arm is entirely replaced from the elbow by a gigantic protractor/compass tool, as well as a pencil and a pen on her hand, which she uses to teach math and impale students.

Biography[]

Miss Circle first appears near her desk, equipping her mathematical compass. Once she unsheathes it, she begins to walk around the hallway to her class.

During her math class, when Abbie fails on his assignment, Miss Circle smashes the desk and begins to chase him in an attempt to kill him. Once Miss Circle finally catches up with Abbie, she kills and eats him. Miss Circle then murders Lana for witnessing her killing Abbie. Miss Circle is seen once again walking down the hallway with Miss Thavel and Miss Bloomie, with sinister smiles on their faces.

She shows up again, warning Claire about going into ∆lice's room. After she had fallen down the pit in the library, Miss Thavel, Miss Bloomie, and Miss Circle all confront her about failed grades, and start to chase her in an attempt to kill her. When they eventually corner her, Miss Circle is about to go in for the kill, but Engel saves Claire, giving her time to run away. As Claire rushes towards ∆lice's room, thinking it was an exit, Miss Circle, Miss Thavel, and Miss Bloomie are shown to have a fearful expression. After ∆lice murders Claire, Miss Circle scolds Zip and Oliver for tricking her.

Trivia[]

  • Miss Circle's design is often mistaken for a cat or wolf. The creator has confirmed she's not one of these animals. It is confirmed the shapes on her head are horns.
  • She loves to eat Oreos.
  • Miss Circle is 38 years old[2].
  • Given her non-human features (Sharp Teeth, Horns, and an abnormal arm) whether she is human or not is ambiguous.
  • Hence the song choice for the first episode, she is similar to Baldi, the main antagonist of Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning with some differences:
    • Baldi instead hits the students when they get the question wrong with his ruler, while Miss Circle murders them with her Compass Arm and even eats them (with Baldi likely doing the same, as he eats planets in the comics).
    • In addition to being a math teacher. Baldi is the head teacher and founder/owner of both of his Schoolhouses, while Miss Circle is neither the head teacher nor the principal of the Paper School.
    • Baldi is known to be manipulative in both of his Schoolhouses' environments, while Miss Circle is unable to be manipulative in Paper School.
    • Baldi is an immortal corrupted entity, although he is still considered human, which makes it difficult to kill him, while Miss Circle is still ambiguous and not immortal at all.
    • Baldi is shown to be kind from the beginning but becomes angry at the unnamed Protagonist when he gets the question wrong, while Circle is already malicious in the first place.
    • While Baldi does have allies to aid him in stopping the unnamed Protagonist, Circle has similar murderous teachers, Miss Bloomie & Miss Thavel, who also kill students for their pleasure.
    • After Null is defeated, Baldi is seen to be friendlier to the unnamed Protagonist, but he does not hurt him and as a regret for what he did to the unnamed Protagonist. Unlike Miss Circle who seems to be more cruel and unfriendly to her students if they get low grades.
    • Although Baldi is still 29 years old (in Birthday Bash he was in his 30s, because it happened in the 2000s), apparently if he was in the 2010s-2020s then his age would be in his 40s-50s. Because he was born in the 1970s, while Miss Circle is still 38 years old and was born in the 1980s.
    • Overall, Baldi has an easier time defeating Miss Circle because he has more power and extraordinary skills, making him difficult to defeat.
  • Miss Circle may also be a hypocrite, as she has scowled Oliver and Zip for killing Claire despite her being the one that killed many of her students if they fail her subject.
  • According to Kaaatie on Twitter, Miss Circle is 38 years old, so she is most likely born on March 24th, 1984.
  • Miss Circle has a male counterpart named Mister Compass, who is her own best friend or lover[3]. However, the post has since been deleted as a result of Kaaatie's sudden departure from the fandom, and TheEdgyverse having deleted their Twitter/X account. Because of this, her relationship with her counterpart has been ultimately cancelled.
  • Originally, Miss Circle would make future appearances in Fundamental Paper Education. However, Kaaatie had completely removed all of her posts and it seems that she has since cut off not only from her own work, but from the fandom altogether as a whole. An explanation can be found on this video.
