Maxwell Lord is the main antagonist of the cancelled Justice League: Mortal, written by Gorge Miller.

He was only survivor of the government cybernetic experiments called OMAC (One Man Army Corps), where he developed the hate on Metahumans. Wanting to revenge for them. Later in the film would see Lord turning into OMAC Ultra after possessing Barry Allen/Flash, but Flash is able to gain consciousness and run faster within the speed force to kill Lord by hitting the speed barrier, though by this way. He also ends his life.

He would be played by Jay Baruchel.

Biography

Lord was the only survivor of government experiment known as OMAC, which in here he developed hatred towards Metahumans as they failed to protect him. Several years later, Lord now being the rival businessmen of Bruce Wayne. Being well known for its restaurant, “Planet Krypton”. But still can’t forget what the metahumans have done on him.

His plan started when he secretly team up with Talia al Ghul, where Talia is able to gain access to Bruce Wayne’s Brothereye satellite and all the information of the Metahumans. Thus, Lord use the nanobots inside those metahumans to disrupt their bodies. However, the heroes are able to use their abilities on themselves or on others to get rid of the nanobots.

Lord then use brothereye to start phase one of his plan, where he turn people around the world into OMAC. As well as use his telekinesis to tell Superman that Lois Lane was murdered by Wonder Woman. Leading Superman to fight Wonder Woman and the other heroes. Wonder Woman use the Lasso of Truth on Lord to get the answer of how Superman can break from Lord’s control, which he response that the only way to do so is to killing Superman. While the battle continues, Batman swiftly swoops in and forcefully break Lord’s neck and kill him. Freeing Superman from Lord’s control.

But unfortunately, Lord’s mind jumped to Talia as she become a living breathing cybernetic monsterosity with Lord’s voice from Brothereye computer. As it turned out that Lord use Planet Krypton’s restaurant chain to infect people with the OMAC virus, as he turned people around the world into OMAC cyborgs. Though Batman kill Talia. Lord’s mind jumps to the flash as he once eat at a Planet Krypton restaurant to refuel, where the nanobots inside him make Lord able to take control of his body. Turning into OMAC Ultra, battling against Superman while rest of the heroes battling against the OMAC army. After briefly gaining his consciousness, Flash realized the only way to stop Lord is to sacrifice himself, thus he run faster and faster and enter the speed force, then slam into the speed barrier to kill Lord and himself. OMAC are all reverted back to human.

Legacy

After the horrific incident, Justice League is formed, and set up a funeral to honor Flash. Flash’s position is taken up by his niece, Wally West in the Justice League.

Trivia

• The reason why this film never get made is due to the writer strike in 2007~2008 as well as Warner Brothers’ preference of making solo films instead of making a team up films.
• Maxwell Lord eventually appeared in the DC Extended Universe film Wonder Woman 1984, portrayed by Pedro Pascal. A rebooted version of him will debut in the DC Universe film Superman and Peacemaker Season 2, portrayed by Sean Gunn.
