The Locusts are the main antagonist faction of the original Gears of War trilogy and the original version of Gears of War 4 before being changed into Scions in the final version of Gears of War 4 as leaders of the Swarm.
History[]
Not much is known about the Locusts in the original Gears of War 4, but it shows like in the final version that they have indeed survived the effects of the Countermeasure Weapon and returned as they evolved into stronger versions of themselves which they gain mutations such as gaining wings for flight and some of them capable of swimming underwater. Led by the "Big Bad", they begin their second global war against humanity.
Locust Members[]
- Gargoyles: The Gargoyles are one of the standard Locust enemies. While they walk on the ground, they're more of a flying type of enemy that the player would've have to deal with.
- Underwater Boomers: The Underwater Boomers are a variation of a Boomer. Unlike the original Locust Boomers, they are shown to have grown tentacles as they are capable of swimming underwater.
- Underwater Tickers: The Underwater Tickers are a mutant type of Hollow sea creatures in the Locust Army. The Underwater Tickers would explode if they get near the player.
- Unidentified Locust Leader: This nameless Locust serves as the leader of the Locust. Not much is actually known about him but he became leader of the Locusts after Myrrah's death and plots to fulfill and finish what Myrrah started.

- According to Cliff Bleszinski on twitter, the Locusts would have been the main antagonist of the second Gears of War Trilogy before being replaced by the Swarm after the Gears of War franchise is now owned by The Coalition.
