Sergei Nikolaevich Kravinoff, otherwise known as Kraven the Hunter, is a planned antagonist for both Black Panther and later Tom Holland’s Spider-man 3, before that film got finalized into Spider-man: No Way Home.
Ryan Coogler and Jon Watts, director of both films, plan to use the character in the respectively films. Facing the protagonists of each film. However, Sony denied the request as they own the right of the character.
It is uncertain who will play the character.

Black Panther[]
Ryan Coogler wanted to use Kraven in this film. Facing against T’Challa and the forces of Wakanda. But Sony vetoed Ryan to use the character. Thus, Ryan use Killmonger instead.
Spider-man 3[]
Before the multiverse storyline, John Watts pitched an idea where after Mysterio revealed Spider-man’s secret identity as Peter Parker in front of the public to frame Spider-man as the murder, Kraven will be the one who knows it first and hunt down Spider-man through out the film. However, Sony again deny the idea. Instead focus on the multiverse storyline which Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-man team up with Tom Holland’s Spider-man and face the villains of past films.

- Ultimately, Kraven the Hunter appeared in live-action in his solo film Kraven the Hunter in 2024, where he was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
- Despite not appearing in No Way Home, a silhouette of Kraven appeared in the near end of the film before Doctor Strange is able to close it off.
- Surprisingly, Kraven’s situation is very similar to Black Adam from DC Extended Universe. As both were planned antagonists for two different superheroes films but was swapped with another antagonist. Both later received a solo film that reimagined the character as an anti-hero, but unfortunately both received negative reviews and resulted in the death of respective cinematic universe. (In Kraven’s case, Sony’s Spiderman Universe)
