Kiyante is an evil sorceress who would have been the antagonist of the unmade third video game instalment of the MediEvil series, MediEvil 3: Fate's Arrow. She was originally the true identity of Sir Daniel Fortesque's love interest, Princess Kiya.

Biography[]

After the events of MediEvil 2, Sir Fortesque and Kiya used a time machine to travel back three weeks before The Battle for Gallowmere, in which Fortesque originally lost his life by the first volley of arrows. However, upon arrival, Kiya suddenly disappears and is revealed to be the villainous Kiyante who manipulated Sir Dan into taking her to the past so she could ally herself with Zarok and alter the course of history.

Kiyante uses an artifact called the Anubis Stone to raise her own army of undead soldiers as she attempts to prevent Sir Dan's past self from participating in The Battle for Gallowmere. If successful, her actions would eventually result in a new timeline where Zarok wins the battle and conquers the Earth. The present Sir Dan would have try and convince his past self to join The Battle for Gallowmere and foil Kiyante's plans.

Although the pitch for MediEvil 3: Fate's Arrow was rejected by Sony, elements featured in the unmade video game (such as Anubis Stone) were reused for MediEvil Resurrection on PlayStation Portable. Also, a modified version of the plot for Fate's Arrow was eventually made into a comic. However, Kiya is not depicted as the villain in the story and ironically prevents a evil warlock from summoning Anubis in ancient Egypt.
