Grozni was a Tyrannosaurus Rex who served as the main antagonist of Phil Tippett's Disney film Dinosaurs. He lead a group of tyrannosaurus's to attack Woot and his herd of Styracosaurus. However, ultimately he was cut because the filmakers felt Carnotaurus would be a more imposing villain than Tyrannosaurus. Some concept art, however, shows a Carnotaurus with the name "Grozni" attached to it, so at one point it was planned to keep the name. However, in the movie, tie in material or behind the scenes. None of the movie's characters have been called Gronzi, meaning the name was cut for unknown reasons.
Biography[]
As only some concept art and storyboard have been released around Grozni, it's hard to piece together exactly what his story was in the film until more concept art and/or scripts surface online. However, some concept art seems to indicate he was going to attack the Styracosaurus herd in a swamp. At the end of the movie, Grozni was going to approach Woot and Punja after scaring off some Ramphorynchus and Mussaurus. He was going to pursue the Styracosaurus duo until they were cornered by the two other Tyrannosaurus. An all-out battle would break out, Grozni would at one point jump on Woot's back, only for the Styracosaurus to throw him off. Grozni would then get up and bite his horn, only to be knocked back. Eventually the fight would end with the other Styracosaurus scaring off the two other Tyrannosaurus, leaving only Grozni. Woot would then stab Gronzi in the stomach, killing him. At the end of the movie, the asteroid would hit planet Earth, bringing a sudden and apoclyptic end to the age of the dinosaurs, killing off the remaining dinosaurs, including Woot and Punja. The film would end with the mammals eating the remains of Grozni and Woot, as well as the smaller dinosaurs that survived the blast, to represent the rise of the mammals and the eventual rise of humans.

Trivia[]
- Grozni was the only character in Phil Tippett's dinosaur to get a stop motion model made of him before the project was cut.
- Grozni leaping onto the back of a Styracosaurus is very similar to Sharptooth jumping onto the back of Littlefoot's mother.
- Had Gronzi made it into Dinosaur he would have been the only character from Phil Tippett's original pitch to appear other than Suri.
- Grozni was depicted as working in groups with other tyrannosaurus, whilst not known at the time recent fossils have shown tyrannosaurs may have actually hunted in packs. Had this trait left in the final cut, that would've make Gronzi the most scientifically accurate character in the movie.
- Some concept art seems to suggest that a Spinosaurus was considered as a potential species instead of Grozni, however it wasn't chosen as Carnotaurus was seen as more demonic and they wanted to avoid parallels with the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park 3.
