A mysterious entity was intended to be the final boss of a cancelled Kirby game for the GameCude known as "Kirby GCN". As the game was quietly cancelled, not much is known about it, with the only information publicly available about it being a single piece of concept art showing it facing off against Kirby and a Helper.
Appearance[]
The entity is colossal in size, being many times larger than Kirby, as evidenced by how small Kirby and his Golem Helper appear next to it in the concept art of it. The center of its body is a massive ball of dark flames. It appears to lack a face, its only facial features being a pair of sinister yellow eyes. Stretching out of the top of its head are two white horns with black stripes, which end in black flames. It also appears to have a red hood pulled over its head, with two parts dangling below his face that each end in a green orb containing what appears to be a black fireball. Stretching out of either side of its back are five grey wing-like features, each of which has a black flame on its tip. Its main limbs are two disembodied large white hands with red fingernails. Each hand has two golden wristlets around where its wrists should be.
Role in the game[]
Apart from the fact that it is the final boss, it is unknown what role the entity would have played in the story of the game and how it would have ended up fighting Kirby. The only information about the story of the game is that King Dedede stole Kirby's Warp Star. It is possible that the entity would have been pulling the strings behind King Dedede, similar to Dark Matter in Kirby's Dream Land 2, and that it had its own designs on Kirby's Warp Star. Alternatively, it may be similar to Nightmare in Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and be an evil force which Dedede sought to stop by taking Kirby's Warp Star. This may mean that the entity's goals somehow involve Kirby's Warp Star. Alternatively, the entity may be connected to Kirby himself somehow, and if he truly was behind Dedede's theft of the Warp Star, may have sought to lure out Kirby for an unknown purpose.
Trivia[]
- Although the entity has yet to appear in a Kirby game, its concept art was the inspiration behind Magolor's design in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, particularly the design of his form in the first phase of the final boss fight after he obtains the Master Crown. Kirby's Return to Dream Land also makes use of other elements that were originally intended for Kirby GCN.
- The entity is nicknamed "Botsu-san" by some Japanese fans.
