The Colossi are the titular antagonists from the 2005 video game Shadow of the Colossus. The game's creator, Fumito Ueda, originally planned forty-eight Colossi to appear in the game. Though the number was brought down to twenty-four, it was eventually decided to only include sixteen in the final release. Because of this, sixteen original Colossi were cut from the game, with only eight of the cut Colossi being elaborated on in the Shadow of the Colossus Artbook and Guidebook and interviews with Ueda; the other eight were only discovered via datamining, and as such, little to nothing is known about them.
