Dr. Ivo Robotnik was set to be the main antagonist of the cancelled CGI/live-action hybrid film Sonic the Hedgehog: Wonders of the World. He is an evil genius and a character from the game Sonic X-Treme who wound up in the real world due to an accident and continued plotting evil schemes there.
Biography[]
Dr. Robotnik's life is presumed to have been identical to his mainstream counterpart's up until the events of the unreleased Sonic X-Treme game. When a real-world boy named Josh used his father's advanced XRI computer to play the game, both Robotnik and his arch-enemy Sonic ended up exiting their game's world and entering the real one. Robotnik, who'd been waiting to leave the game world for years, left to cause more trouble. Though Sonic tried to stop him, he grew weaker with every moment he spent in the real world and thus let the doctor get away.
Robotnik would then set up a shell corporation named Shady Corporation, purchase the abandoned Ramshackle Amusement Park through it and rename it "Botnikland Amusement Park". He hired a number of school bullies to act as his shock troops and turned them into Bullibots, and sent his robots to search for the Chaos Emeralds which were now encased in rocks somewhere in the real world.
After running into Josh's father Hal, Robotnik hired him as well, restoring the amusement park through the use of virtual reality. His park was a huge success due to being practically free to attend, with lots of kids visiting it. The visitors, however, would be held prisoner to mine for Chaos Emeralds while Robotnik replaced them with identical but much more obedient Kinder-Bots. That wouldn't be all that Robotnik wanted to achieve. He planned to transport several famous landmarks, such as the Amazon rainforest and Mount Everest, into his VR park to make it even more popular.
After a number of battles with Robotnik's minions, Sonic and Josh would confront the doctor himself, send him back into the game world and defeat him there.
Trivia[]
- Dr. Robotnik would eventually appear in the 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog movie, but as a normal human originating from Earth rather than the game world.
