Dr. Neo Periwinkle Cortex was set to be the main antagonist of the unreleased animated series Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Cartoon Show! Like his canon counterpart, he is an evil scientist and the creator of Crash Bandicoot, plotting to conquer the world, only to be repeatedly defeated by his creation.
Biography[]
Similar to his original counterpart, Neo Cortex created Crash Bandicoot to be the leader of his Cortex Commandos, only for the mutant to end up disobedient and flee his creator's laboratory. The following storylines for episodes outlined in the series' bible featured Cortex in some way.
CLUCK-OFF and FRY![]
Farmer Ernest bought contaminated food from Cortex and fed it to his chickens, turning them mad and making them desire to be eaten. Crash and Aku Aku managed to solve the problem by having everyone go vegan and put the chickens in charge of the vegan restaraunt Mother Clucker's.
GOOD KNIGHT SWEET BANDICOOT[]
In Crash Bandicoot's dream Cortex, disguised as a black knight, kidnapped a princess Crash had fallen in love with, but the bandicoot managed to defeat him and save the princess.
WHAT A BABY![]
Cortex was making an Eternal Life Ray when Tiny Tiger bumped into him. The ray malfunctioned, turning Cortex into a baby. As Nina babysit her uncle, he eventually escaped outdoors, but was caught by Nina and Coco and brought back to his original age.
BULL-BUSTING BANDICOOT[]
Cortex created robot broncos that would've wiped out all rodeo contestants. Crash was the only contestant who handled the broncos, and later confronted and defeated Cortex's Ultimate Jet-Powered Superdynamic Bullosaurus Rex, with Cortex winding up strapped to his own creation in the end.
NOT SO GLAD-IATOR[]
Cortex kidnapped Crash and forced him to fight gladiator mutants in his colliseum, capping the competition off with a chariot race that literally brought the house down.
BIG TOP BANDICOOT[]
Cortex created an Evil Circus, and had Crash and Ripper Roo take part in a stunt competition there. As Crash kept winning, to Cortex's annoyance, the doctor pulled out a challenge specifically designed for Crash to lose, though how success ful it was is unknown.
VORTEX IN THE CORTEX[]
After Cortex's brain escaped his head to hang out with Crash, he tried out several replacements, which were all goofier than the original and didn't work, and the last one even turned the doctor kind. Finally, Cortex's old brain came back and kicked out the new one, though Cortex still chose to keep it as his butler.
SUPERCOOT[]
Neo Cortex assembled a team of villains and armed them with weapons so that together they would succeed in destroying the world. Each villain then started their own wave of destruction. With the superpowers granted to him by a totem Papu Papu gave him, Crash defeated each villain, even if through his clumsiness, and went on to face Cortex himself. The two fought over the totem, with the powers jumping between them, until Papu Papu arrived. As the two asked the chief to give them each one final power, he summoned them to his temple, and made them clean it instead of granting them powers.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF... EVIL![]
Cortex and N. Brio reminisced about their school days, arguing which of them was the evilest student.
ANTS IN MY PANTS[]
Cortex and N. Brio created a Nano-Robot Termite Ant Farm producing robot termite ants that could eat almost anything, with the scientists planning to unleash them on the world. Brio dropped the farm by accident, making termites run amok in the lab and devour everything. After failing to subdue the robots, the doctors called Dingodile's Extermination Service, which only made things worse, as Dingodile set the lab on fire. The doctors then decided to lure the ants out by setting up a picnic and inventing a robot termite ant attracting jelly. Unfortunately for them, Brio spilled the jelly all over his clothes, and the ants attacked him and Cortex directly.
