Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is a supporting character in the video game Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, and was set to be the main antagonist for its cancelled sequel. The lengthy absense of Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends allowed him to conquer the world, forcing the heroes to try and fight him back to end his rule.
Biography[]
The first Sonic Chronicles game ended with Eggman greeting the returning heroes and shooting down Blue Cyclone. The sequel would reveal that he was now in control of the entire world, and had altered several landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, to his liking. After recovering from the shootdown, Sonic and his friends would split up and form several pockets of resistance to the evil scientist's regime. As Sonic would assemble an army strong enough to take Eggman down, however, Argus would appear, and the two mortal enemies would agree to temporarily set aside their differences to defeat him. Eggman would end up firing Super Sonic into Argus, weakening him and releasing all prisoners of the Twilight Cage, who would then kill the deity. With his empire having crumbled, Eggman would retreat, swearing revenge.
Trivia[]
- Given that Sonic Chronicles is considered non-canon by Kevin Eva, its version of Eggman technically remains successful in conquering the world and remaining in power, something only a few incarnations of the character can boast. Had the sequel not been cancelled, however, this would not be the case.
