Director Kakuzawa is main antagonist of the Elfen Lied Anime.

He origianlly had an different history in an early version of the Elfen Lied Anime before it was re-written by the director's request to make it less action and more of an drama show where he had different history and fate.

History[]

He would share mostly the same history as in the final Anime with key differences. [1]

He would end up being aware of Lucy at the Maple Inn and decided to use her attachment there by sending Mariko there instead of an bridge.

The sub-plot of him launching an missile with the Diclonius Virus from the Manga would be used but unlike in the Manga it fails as he was shot by Kurama who've survived the explosion that killed him in the final Anime thanks to Mariko protecting him and the missile ends up misfiring where it ends up destroying the Diclonius Research Institution killing them both in the process.
