Cortex was set to be the main antagonist of the unreleased game Crash Landed, which would serve as a reboot of the Crash Bandicoot series. Much like Dr. Neo Cortex from the original series, he is an evil scientist experimenting on wild animals for undisclosed purposes, and the creator of Crash Bandicoot.
Biography[]
Much of Cortex's past and motivations remains unknown. He is known to have taken many bandicoots from the wild and performed experiments on them. One successfully mutated bandicoot, Crash, escaped and sought to rescue other bandicoots still held by the evil scientist. Cortex employed his minions, including another mutant named Dingodile, in an attempt to stop Crash from interfering with his plans.

- While Cortex is confirmed to exist in the Crash Landed setting, no concept art of him was ever released, leaving it unknown if he would actually make a physical appearance in the game.
