Connor, labeled as The Adultescent, was intended to be one of the antagonists of the Mexican animated series Disventure Camp, a Spanish-language web series based on the Canadian animated franchise Total Drama. While an heroic and one of the kindest contestants in the final product, Connor was originally pitched as a villain by its creator Jairo "Ordartz" Ordaz, but the plot changed and made him like he was in the finished product.

He was voiced by Michael Kim in the English dub, Bello In The Box in the Spanish dub and Adam Żejmo in the Polish dub in the finished project.

Biography[]

Around early 2022, Odd Nation Cartoons founders Jared Madrigal and Robert Castellanos decided to make a second season of Total Drama Adventure, their own Total Drama fanmade series. To do so, they asked for original character concepts to their fans and even Total Drama fan artists so they could help in producing the show, which got support as well in Patreon for its budget as Odd Nation wasn't that big and influential of a channel back then. Before the season's release, Fresh TV (the creators of Total Drama who by this point were already working on a revival of the show for Cartoon Network and HBO Max since early 2021) filled a lawsuit against OddNation for copyright infringement, causing them to delete Total Drama Adventure from their channel and retool the new season into an original work of their own, morphing into what is today known as Disventure Camp, which, while keeping some references to their inspiration show, slowly shredded all of them over time so nowadays it's its own entity.

During early production of Disventure Camp, Connor was one of the many contestants pitched by fans or Total Drama fan artists, in his case being pitched by Jairo "Ordartz" Ordaz, a renowed Total Drama fan artist who also pitched the contestant Ally. However, according to Ordartz, his original pitch for Connor didn't have him as a nice person but as an antagonist, with the pictures shared by him heavily hinting that Connor would have been a malicious contestant willing to do anything to win the prize like most of its inspiration show's villains. However, as the season's plots were written by Madrigal, Castellanos and Diego "Carazar Zone" Cardona, Connor's characterization was rewritten to make him a nice guy, with the only remnants of his original characterization being his boomer personality and cute appearance. The change may have been for the best, as Connor has going down as one of the show's most beloved characters.

Trivia[]

  • It's unknown if Connor was pitched to Odd Nation Cartoons back when Disventure Camp was still set to be the sequel to Total Drama Adventure or not.
