Antagonists from a media subgenre known as Exploitation - controversial and dealing with taboo subject matter it merges with horror, dark comedy, surrealism and adult entertainment; it was especially prominent during a period known as the "Video Nasty era" spawning titles that continue to be seen due to their (intentionally) controversial content. Exploitation media is often banned but that which gets released usually becomes cult-favorites amongst a small dedicated subgroup.
