Beerus is the main antagonist of the Dragon Ball Z movie, Battle of the Gods. However, in the original script, he was a completely different kind of villain than he was in the final product.
Original Design[]
Before becoming the purple cat god of Egyptian attire that we all know, Beerus was initially planned to be a lizard. As no concept art has been released, it is unknown what this lizard Beerus would have looked like.
Name[]
While many (including Toriyama himself) thought Beerus was named after the alcoholic beverage beer, in truth, his name was a pun on "virus", which is what his original character would have reflected with his personality and destructive abilities.
Biography[]
Beerus was considered to be one of the most dangerous beings in the universe. He was ultimately the one responsible for corrupting the Saiyan Race and turning them into conquerors.
Many years later, during Krillin and Android 18's wedding day, Beerus arrived on Earth with intent to bring ruin to it. Seeing the Saiyan Goku, Beerus decides to turn Goku's friends against him. Goku finds himself having to remember what makes a hero before he eventually confronts Beerus.
After going through hard trials, Goku achieves the power of Super Saiyan God and fights the malicious deity.
